Nationally,
Oklahoma's University Center for Excellence in Developmental
Disabilities (UCEDD) is associated
with 67 other UCEDDs through the
Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD)
and our federal sponsor. The
U.S.
Administration on Developmental Disabilities (ADD) in
the federal Department of Health and Human Services funds the UCEDDs.
The charge from the ADD
is "to serve as liaisons between academic expertise and
institutions of higher learning and service delivery systems
so as to positively affect the lives of individuals with developmental
disabilities and their families by increasing their independence,
productivity, inclusion, and integration into communities."
Oklahoma's UCEDD is named the Center for Learning and Leadership (CLL), and is located at the University
of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center, College of Medicine. The
UCEDD was founded in 1992 on principles of statewide collaboration
and partnership.Our founding partners were:
Oklahoma's
UCEDD also works with people in communities and organizations
across the state to ensure the inclusion of people with developmental
disabilities and their families in all aspects of community
life.
