SoonerCare Health Education Partners

SoonerCare Health Education Partners is a multidimensional training project that provides information to health-care providers who work with children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and their family members. The project also provides Managed Health Care information to consumers, families and disability advocates. The Oklahoma Health Care Authority, the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Council and the Center for Interdisciplinary Learning and Leadership work together to increase awareness about the needs of individuals with disabilities and their families and to increase the ability of health-care providers to improve planning and delivery of health-care services for this group. The project targets rural and urban providers and consumers and both administrators and direct-service providers. The project utilizes Focus Groups to gather information from families and self-advocates about their access to health care.
