Oklahoma Family Support Project
The Oklahoma
Family Support Project collaborates with community members to
enhance a coordinated statewide system of family support and
support for adults with disabilities. A key feature of the project
is the Oklahoma Family
Support Policy Council, which includes individuals,
families and professionals working together for systems change.
The Council developed the Oklahoma
Individual and Family Support Principles to equip
the community with a common language to talk about how families
want to interact with professionals. Other project features
are training and technical assistance to promote a collaborative
team approach of support across the lifespan. The Oklahoma Family
Support Project is a Project of National Significance funded
by the US
Administration on Developmental Disabilities and
the Oklahoma Developmental Disabilities Services Division.
