This Panel entitled “Managing Boundaries in Cancer Communication Research” was
developed in response to NCA,s REACHING IN / REACHING OUT theme for the 2003
Convention to be held in Miami Beach, November 19 – 23.

institutions, a nonprofit organization focusing on pancreatic cancer (PanCAN,

Center
and VAMC, Oklahoma City will discuss Negotiating Disciplinary Boundaries in
Cancer Research. This panel was ranked second of fourteen applications
in competition for four panels to be included in this years convention.

detailing the experience and special qualifications of the pancreatic cancer
surgeons (Dr. Jeffrey Bender, Dr. Larry Pennington, and Dr. Russell Postier)
associated with the OU Southwest Program for
Pancreatic Cancer and
OU Surgical Oncology. This
information will be distributed to physicians, clinics, and hospitals throughout
Oklahoma and the surrounding Southwest Region under the direction of Leslie

PANCREATIC CANCER ACTION NETWORK PARTNERSHIP VISIT TO OKLAHOMA
Two days of
meetings with leaders from the Pancreatic Cancer Network, Le Segundo, California
on March 24th and 25th were highly productive. Paula Kim,

leadership of the OU Southwest Program for
Pancreatic Cancer on the

campus and the OUHSC,
