Marvin D. Peyton, M.D., Professor, Department of Surgery, Chief of the Section of Cardiothoracic, was born in Oklahoma. Dr. Peyton graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed residencies in general and thoracic Surgery at the University of Oklahoma. After completing his residency, he stayed on as faculty for two years. He then spent 21 years in private practice in Oklahoma City. In August 2002, Dr. Peyton returned to the Department of Surgery as Section Chief of the Section of Cardiothoracic. He is Board Certified in surgery and thoracic surgery.
