Peter Pastuszko, M.D.
Peter Pastuszko, M.D., Assistant Professor, Section of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, was born in Warsaw,
Poland. He moved to Philadelphia at age 14. He received his undergraduate as well as his medical degree from the University of
Pennsylvania. Dr. Pastuszko completed his training in both general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Thomas Jefferson University
Hospital. Following a fellowship in congenital cardiac surgery at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, Dr. Pastuszko joined the
Section of Cardiothoracic Surgery faculty in July 2004. He is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery.
In addition to his duties as a thoracic and cardiovascular surgeon, Dr. Pastuszko
also runs a hyperhidrosis treatment program for the department. Endoscopic Thoracic Sympathectomy (ETS), the technique used by Dr.
Pastuszko is a cutting edge procedure for permanent correction of hyperhidrosis.
