Jeffrey S. Bender, M.D.

Jeffrey S. Bender, M.D., Jeffrey S. Bender, M.D., Professor of Surgery, Section of General Surgery, graduated from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He did his residency training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Wayne State University. Following time in the U.S. Navy and on the faculty of Wayne State, he was on the faculty at Johns Hopkins from 1990 to 2001. In August 2001, he joined the University of Oklahoma as Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery. In addition to laparoscopy, his clinical interests include colorectal surgery, GI surgery and complex hernias. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery
