Ciaran M. O'Hare, M.D.
Ciaran M. O'Hare, M.D., Assistant Professor of Surgery, Section of General Surgery, was born in Armagh City,
Northern Ireland. He completed his medical and surgical training at University College, Dublin, culminating in his being accepted as a
member of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1985. After a period spent as a surgical registrar in Ireland and England he
joined the Department of Surgery as a Research Fellow in 1989. In 1992, he entered the Department of Surgery Residency Program and,
after completion of his residency, he joined the faculty of the Department in June, 1996. Dr. O'Hare is currently Chief of Surgery at
the Veterans Administration Medical Center. He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery.
