M. Alex Jacocks, M.D.

M. Alex Jacocks, M.D., Professor of Surgery, was born in North Carolina. Dr. Jacocks was an honor graduate of the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and an outstanding resident in the Department of Surgery. His postgraduate education included a year at the Massachusetts General Hospital in the laboratory of Dr. Willard M. Daggett. Dr. Jacocks joined the full time faculty in July, 1982. He is Director of the Residency Training Program in the Department of Surgery. In 1990, Dr. Jacocks was awarded The Stanton L. Young Master Teacher Award, the first surgeon to be so honored. He is particularly interested in vascular surgery. He is Board Certified in Surgery in addition has a Certificate of Special Competence in General Vascular Surgery.
