| FETAL HEART MONITORING COURSES The Office of Perinatal Continuing Education is now offering three levels of fetal heart monitoring courses. "Introduction to Fetal Heart Monitoring" includes information for the Registered Nurse new to perinatal nursing. The class is taught by Barbara O'Brien, RN, BSN. The Association of Women's Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses' (AWHONN) Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course (IFMC) is intended for RNs, physicians and/or Certified Nurse Midwives with at least six months experience in fetal heart monitoring. It is a two-day class that is held at various locations. It is approved for 18.3 continuing education credits for RNs and 15.25 CMEs for physicians and CNMs upon successful completion of the course.
