The overall direction of the Department continues to be in line with our stated mission:

To advance our understanding of the disease process and to improve treatment in the disciplines of Otorhinolaryngology, Audiology and Speech Pathology.

As an academic clinical department we seek to accomplish this mission by:

• Teaching residents, providing an environment in which every one of them can achieve his or her maximum potential.
• Teaching medical students and graduate students in audiology and speech pathology.
• Providing care to patients in an exemplary and analytical manner, thus setting high standards of care to be emulated by residents and students and enabling us to learn through and from the daily practice of medicine.
• Pursuing knowledge and research.
• Securing financial stability.
