CHILD NEUROLOGY
Dr. Julie Parke is Division Chief of Child Neurology at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center and Children’s Hospital of Oklahoma. Dr. Parke is involved in research and treatment for the children of central Oklahoma.
Dr. Farida Abid is Assistant Professor in the Child Neurology Section of the Neurology Department at the University of Oklahoma.
Patricia Perkins, CPNP, is a Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in the Child Neurology Division of the Department of Neurology at the University of Oklahoma.
Pediatric neurology is emerging as an integral and essential role in the
practice of modern medicine. Much of the growth for this ever expanding
field is due to the recent recognition by scientists, physicians, and
researchers that many genetic and congenital diseases have a
relationship to the neuromuscular system. Because of this, child
neurologists work hand in hand with many professionals in the fields of
genetics, orthopedics, and child psychology, to name a few, in order to
treat and research the neuromuscular diseases that particularly affect
children.
