The neurology faculty of the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center has a strong commitment to teaching.  Faculty members are readily available for either formal or informal discussion with residents.

The program provides a well-balanced approach to neurology with a mixture of clinical and basic sciences training, as well as exposure to areas necessary in the practice of neurology such as neuroradiology, neuropathology, clinical neurophysiology, psychiatry and neurosurgery.

A combination of in-patient and out-patient experience allows residents to study general neurology and sub-specialty in varied settings.  The wide variety of clinical material available at the five teaching institutions provide a broad based spectrum of training for the resident.

Finally, our program offers the first year of medicine as an integrated part of the neurology residency.  While it is not necessary for residents to take their first year of medicine at OUHSC, the availability of a PG-1 year in our regular medicine program provides a smooth transition into the neurology residency program with minimal disruption.

I invite you to consider the neurology program at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center for your training in neurology.  Our faculty are dedicated to providing residents with the ultimate in training and education.
