The Faculty Leadership Program is a series of highly interactive, small group seminars led by faculty and administrators to give colleagues an insider's view of the academic health center. The scope and complexity of faculty roles at a contemporary Academic Health center requires new skills. Skills to balance those roles, achieve personal productivity in teaching, research and service responsibilties, and make good career decisions certainly develop over time. However, we believe that our faculty and university can excel when effective strategies for engaging the opportunities and challenges of our environment are shared.
Founded in 1990, the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center Faculty Leadership Program is an innovative approach to interdisciplinary and inter-professional faculty development in the health sciences and human services.
The program is led through a partnership between the Office of the Senior Vice President and Provost, and the Office of the Executive Dean, College of Medicine. Sponsoring OUHSC Colleges include Allied Health, Dentistry, Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Medicine and the Graduate College.
The OUHSC Faculty Leadership Program includes a Summer Institute specifically tailored to the national community of health and human services faculty involved with interdisciplinary education in these fields and at the Historically Black, Native American and Hispanic Colleges. |
