Material safety data sheets (MSDS) are required by law to be provided by manufacturers or vendors of products containing hazardous materials. MSDS information will include information such as chemical composition, exposure limits, potential health effects, first aid procedures, personal protective equipment requirements, and spill/leak procedures.
MSDSs may be obtained in the following manner:
- They may come with your chemical order.
- Search the links below.
- A collection of MSDSs can be found at the Environmental Health and Safety Office. We have an entire room filled with MSDSs! Contact the EHSO for assistance in obtaining these.
- You can get them from the manufacturer or vendor. Call or FAX their customer service department. Here's a few for your reference:

Just call the number listed above, and follow the instructions.
Malinkrodt Baker: MSDSs are available on their web site.Sigma-Aldrich: 1-800-325-3010 Over 90,000 Sigma-Aldrich MSDSs are now available at their web site. You may search by product number, product name or CAS number. Just register and let your fingers do the walking!
