Leica TCS NT Microscope
Confocal microscopy allows the user to obtain depth-selective information on the three dimensional structure of a microscopic object. The confocal principle is especially valuable in fluorescence microscopy, since it almost completely eliminates stray light not coming from the focal plane. Thus the system is able to produce fluorescence images with optimum clarity and resolution of fine details.
Configuration
- Four laser excitation (Ar-UV, Ar-488, Kr-568, HeNe-633)
- Four fluorescent detectors and transmitted detector
- Objectives:
- 100x Plan APO 1.4 NA oil immersion
- 63x Plan APO 1.2 NA water immersion
- 63x HCX APO 0.9 NA dipping
- 40x HCX APO 0.8 NA dipping
- 40x Plan Fluotar 1.0 NA oil immersion
- 10x Plan Fluotar 0.3 NA dry
- Images analyzed using the Leica TCS and Volocity software
