Pain Fellowship
The goal of training is to prepare the trainee to be a consultant in pain management. The pain fellow will interact with several other medical disciplines also concerned with acute and chronic pain management in all age groups. Comprehensive histories and examinations are emphasized and further diagnostic treatments will contain elements of multiple disciplines. The pain fellow will spend sufficient time with other specialties to become familiar with areas relevant to pain management. For example, he or she will spend some time in radiology for interpretation of x-ray, C.T. scan and MRI exam, or in psychology to understand significance of MMPI evaluation. Other areas will include oncology, physical therapy, and business administration. The fellowship allows the fellow to serve 12 months between our facilities at Everett Tower, Presbyterian Tower, and Veterans Affairs Medical Center. Objectives: During the 12 months the fellow should be able to develop skills in different aspects of pain management including:
