GRANTS HELD AS PRINCIPAL INVESTIGATOR:
- (1RO1 DK069808) NIH Genes and Proteins of Urothelial-ECM Interactions. 04/01/2005 –
03/31/2010 Total Request = $1,250,000 direct costs. This reply to an NIH RFA seeks to identify the
genes and proteins involved in signaling between normal and malignant urothelial cells and extracellular
matrix.
- 1RO1 CA75322 (NIH) Bladder Cancer Biomarkers as Guides to Surgery and Therapy. 07/01/99-
06/30/05. Total award= $1,177,806 (direct), $1,698,967 (total). This proposal received a score in the
8.9th percentile. The objective of this study is to identify markers that correlate with bladder cancer phenotype and that can be used to guide therapy.
- Urothelial Cell Response to Infection. 1 R21 DK 062889-01. 05/01/03-04/30/06. This project uses
microarrays to identify a set of significant genes representing the response of human urothelial cells to
infection. $200,000 for 2 years.
- Biological Implications of Matrix-Dependent Phenotypic Modulation of Bladder Cancer Cells.
Cook Biotech. 03/01/04 – 02/29/06 This project seeks to investigate the in vivo tumorigenicity and
metastatic potency of bladder cancer cells as it relates to the extracellular matrix on which the cells were
grown. Total direct costs $29,438
