Upon choosing an area of concentration, financial support passes from GPiBS to the supporting Department. All full-time students accepted into the PhD program receive financial support. The type of stipend varies, but includes research assistantships, departmental assistantships, fellowship appointment to NIH training grants or fellowships from private sources. Full-time students enrolled in the Ph.D. program are eligible for tuition waivers. Student stipends are currently set at $20,000 ($21,500 as of July 1, 2007) per year. University fees and medical insurance are also provided.
