Research Interests

  1. Insulin resistance. Glucosamine is a widely used drug for osteoarthritis. It has been shown in both in vitro and in vivo animal studies that glucosamine increases insulin resistance. In clinical studies using the General Clinical Research Center, we are investigating the possibility that this effect may be a significant promoter of insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes in humans taking glucosamine.
