The Section of Endocrinology and Diabetes conducts three regular weekly seminars. All clinicians and researchers in the Section, and interested clinical and research staff from other disciplines in the Health Sciences Center, are encouraged to attend. An important goal of these seminars is to bring together clinical and research staff, as well as offer Continuing Medical Education credit. We frequently invite guest speakers from both inside and outside OUHSC. The seminars are as follows:
Research Conference - Mondays, 4:00 - 5:00pm, BMSB #433. The purpose of this meeting is the presentation of ongoing laboratory studies, usually by post-doctoral students and junior faculty. The meeting, led by Dr. Sanai Sato, is attended by senior faculty members and all research staff from each of our research groups, and is an important forum for discussion.
Endocrinology Grand Rounds - Tuesdays, 8:00 - 9:00am, WP #1345. This meeting is clinically oriented. A majority of the presentations are given by our clinical fellows, who present a case or cases of interest followed by an in-depth review of relevant literature and discussion.
Research Rounds/Journal Club - Wednesdays, 8:00 - 9:00am, BMSB #433. This meeting has the specific goal of bringing together
the clinicians and researchers in the Section. Investigators present clinical
or basic research work so as to inform a general audience. The work may be in
progress or completed. Once a month, the meeting is in the form of a journal
club. |
